Partnerships

ENCATC is one of the current 17 European organisations belonging to the EU budget line A-3042. This budget line was created under the Budget 2000 procedures with the aim to support organisations having as main objectives the promotion of European Integration; the Development of networks throughout Europe; the encouragement of partnership with organisations in the public and the private sectors; and the creation of networks between Member States and pre-accession countries’ organisations. ENCATC is also one of the main partners in projects funded by the European Commission in common consultation, such as Eurocut21 and Culture Capital Creation.

ENCATC is a non-governmental organisation, NGO, with operational relations with UNESCO since 2000. ENCATC has developed and carried out several projects in close co-operation with UNESCO, such as the training course entitled European Diploma in Cultural Project Management initiated under UNESCO’s aegis and with its financial assistance, for which UNESCO staff members and experts regularly read lectures, the South-East European Training for Trainers Academy entitled Capacity Building and sustainability of cultural institutions in Bulgaria, or the recent round table and workshop on culture, community development and training needs in Turin (IT) which presented UNESCO’s best practices from all over the world in this field. The most recent result of our co-operation with UNESCO is the recent publication of the unique document on Training in cultural policy and management: international directory of training centres; Europe, Russian Federation, Caucasus, Central Asia, which is a first volume of a series of publications covering all regions. We also have close co-operation with several European UNESCO Chairs in Cultural Policy and Management. In this regards, most of UNESCO Chairs in cultural management related fields are members of the ENCATC network. There is a regular information exchange. Moreover, UNESCO representatives are regularly invited to ENCATC General Assemblies as well as ENCATC representatives are invited each year to attend the UNESCO annual General Conference.

ENCATC was launched in 1992 under the auspices of the Council of Europe. The launch was supported by the Council of Europe in the framework of the “Training of cultural administrators” programme of the Council of Europe. The programme’s aims are to facilitate the mobility of trainers and trainees in the field of arts administrations; to stimulate the exchange of information on pedagogical contents and methodologies; to encourage arts administration training programmes to include European dimension in the curricula. From 1992 till 2003, the Council of Europe supported ENCATC through a yearly financial contribution. The Council of Europe is an ex-officio member of the ENCATC Board.
There is a regular information exchange between the European Cultural Foundation and ENCATC. Moreover, ENCATC representatives are regularly invited to attend ECF main events as well as ECF representatives are invited each year to attend and actively participate to the ENCATC annual General Assembly.

Association of Arts Administration Educators, AAAE
ENCATC end the AAAE Have a regular information exchange. The mission of the organisation is to represent college and university graduate and undergraduate programs in arts administration, encompassing training in the management of visual, performing, literary, media, cultural and arts service organisations, ENCATC representatives are regularely invited to attend AAAE main events as well as AAAE representatives are invited each year to attend and actively participate to the ENCATC annual General Assembly.
