Who will win the 2019 the ENCATC Research Award?

On the evening of 3 October in Dijon, France, the winner of the 2019 ENCATC Research Award on Cultural Policy and Management will be announced at the 2019 ENCATC Research Award Ceremony held during the 2019 ENCATC Congress on Cultural Management and Policy (2-5 October). 

The winner will be selected from the finalists chosen from the pool of applications resulting from an open call to be launched in 2019. Responsible for the review and selection process is the Award's international jury, which is made up  of recognized experts and academics from Europe, Asia, North and South America.

The Award consists of the winner having his or her PhD thesis published in the Cultural Management and Cultural Policy Education Book Series, a new series of publications specialising in topics related to cultural management and cultural policy headed by ENCATC. The international dissemination of the ENCATC Book Series is ensured by Peter Lang, an international publishing group based in Switzerland and operating throughout the world.

The ENCATC Award aims to encourage and enable young cultural policy researchers to take a step from evaluative (descriptive) to comparative applied research that can inform policy making and benefit practitioners active in the field. The Award is devoted to PhD theses which shed light on contemporary cultural issues and challenges by analysing them and offering policy solutions. The Award is open to European and non-European researchers.

Launched in 2014, 5 talented PhD researchers have won the Award at date which represents an important achievement for them in this discipline, and a key step in the production of new knowledge.production of new knowledge.

This Award Ceremony is intended for researchers, academics, policy makers, cultural managers and operators, experts, representatives from International and European institutions, students, artists, general public.


The 2019 ENCATC Research Award is done with the support of the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
