2020 ENCATC International Study Tour

There will be a communication soon on this event moving online and no longer held in person due to the Covid-19 crisis.

The 2020 edition of the ENCATC International Study Tour will be organised in Lisbon with participation of members from Association of Arts Administrators Educators, AAAE.

The 2020 programme will include lectures, study visits to cultural institutes and cultural venues along with lively discussions led by experts in the field to create a once in a lifetime experience to learn about arts, culture management and policies in Portugal.

Participants will gain access to: 

• increased knowledge on cultural trends in Portugal;
• a space for the development of people-to-people exchange and transnational projects between the participants and between the participants and the local actors;
• Portugal's rich arts and cultural scene with special behind-the-scenes privileges;
• new teaching material for students on cultural management and policy.

BACKGROUND: 

The International Study Tour was first designed by ENCATC in 2013 to foster international exchanges of ideas, projects and practice among academics, scholars, cultural entrepreneurs and administrators from different world regions. It was established to promote cooperation among European HEIs / cultural institutions and their counterparts in another world regions. The aim is also to collect first-hand teaching material to exchange with students and colleagues as well as to contribute to the EU agenda for culture through building trust and understanding between the peoples of Europe and the rest of the world through culture.
