This summer school gives a comprehensive overview of the fashion industry (independent fashion designers and luxury brands) and their dynamics, with an emphasis on sustainability and on entrepreneurial fashion designers and high fashion and luxury brands. The Summer School is targeted to professionals, Master students as well as Bachelors students with proven fashion experience and highly motivated to work in the fashion industry.
This programme is a collaboration between two prestigious schools: University of Antwerp (UAntwerp) and Institut Français de la Mode (IFM). From 24 August until the 2 September 2020, the courses are organised in Antwerp (24-28 August) and in Paris (31 August-2 September).
A team of international accomplished faculty selected for both academic credentials and professional experience will provide participants with high-quality, competence-driven teaching. In previous editions, the summer school has welcomed lecturers such as Bianca Luzi (CEO for Raf Simons), Tony Kent (London School of Fashion), Tina Debo (Advice President for Kipling), Karinna Knobbs (The Graduate School at London College of Fashion), Walter Van Beirendonk (fashion designer), Tim Van Steenbergen (fashion designer)...
The programme is a mixture of in-class and on-site learning methods: group discussions, practical knowledge, visits to fashion companies, the fashion districts and flagship stores.
This is an opportunity to build an international network and exchange insights in different fashion communities, research and businesses with fellow participants from all over the world!
