Nisha Baliga

Nisha Baliga has 15 years of planning experience working with public agencies, community organizations, cities, and private institutions on master plans and urban design frameworks. Before Hester Street, Baliga worked as a Senior Associate at Beyer Blinder Belle for almost a decade, on a range of national and international projects which included a posting with her family for 2 years in Arusha, Tanzania. Nisha has extensive experience working at the ntersection of urban planning and public health, open space, resiliency, economic revitalization and infrastructure design. She recently lead the Hester Street consultant team that worked with NYC Department of Cultural Affairs to produce New York City's first ever comprehensive cultural plan in July 2017.   Nisha spent her childhood in India, has an undergraduate degree from Ohio Wesleyan University, and a Masters degree in Urban Planning from Columbia University.
