ENCATC Congress 2022 #2: International cultural relations in challenging times

Brussels

On 19 October 2022, during its annual Congress, ENCATC organized a series of Members Talks in combination with Study Visits in key cultural locations in Brussels. This talk took place in relation with the visit of the MigratieMuseumMigration (MMM).

The Congress' #2 Study Visit and related Members' Talk on the theme of international cultural relations happened at the MigratieMuseumMigration (MMM).  The museum does not only tell the story of migration in Brussels. The museum pays tribute to all those who build Brussels. Yesterday, today and tomorrow. By discovering the objects and stories in the display cabinets, words are opened up, empathy is created and visitors can start to share their own journey. The museum is one of the 2022 European Heritage Label Awards winners.

Before the Members' Talk, participants were welcomed and enjoyed a short visit by Johan Leman, Member of the board and co-founder of the MigratieMuseumMigration (MMM), em. Prof. at KU Leuven, Belgium.
