ENCATC Congress 2022 #3: Artists and Transnational Cooperation: Sustainable Practices and Policy

Brussels

On 19 October 2022, during its annual Congress, ENCATC organized a series of Members Talks in combination with Study Visits in key cultural locations in Brussels. This talk took place in relation with the visit of the Holland House in Brussels.

The Congress' #3 Study Visit and related Members' Talk on the theme of sustainability and transnational cooperation in art happened at the Holland House. The House is not a gallery space. It is used by the members and guests of Holland House Brussels. They move in the different corners and halls, act and leave traces. The concept of ‘new space(s)’ is also a symbol of the interlude created by the corona crisis, in which artists, entrepreneurs, employees, politicians and lobbyists are forced to take a step back. Redefinition of priorities and positions, and the abandonment of well-defined frameworks has become a new reality, taking place at various levels; on a personal and family level, as well as within organisations and companies that focus on social, economic and political themes within the immediate community, as well as on national, European and global contexts. Participants of the Visit were welcomed and enjoyed a short visit by Yelena Kharitonova, Founder of Caravan Cultura CreArt Agency and Consultancy, Belgium and The Netherlands.
