ENCATC Members Talk - Future of learning and teaching practice, off and online

Online

TOPIC #3

The recording and related materials are accessible to the membership in the Members Area.

The ENCATC Members Talk N°3 took place online on 5 June from 14:30 - 15:30 (CEST).

In reaction to the COVID-19 outbreak, education had to be moved rapidly online to ensure students could continue their studies. This required transfer from in-person to online has created many challenges but also produced new innovations. This edition of the Members Talk wanted to go deeper into questions of:  What has worked best from transferring to online/remote learning? How is this impacting teachers and students? What are the lessons learned to help move forward? What will cultural management and cultural policy education look like in the future?

In conversation with members of ENCATC, AAAE, and TACPS and moderated by ENCATC Secretary General GiannaLia Cogliandro Beyens, this Members Talk was the opportunity to explore:

  • new opportunities afforded by going digital
  • what can be better achieved in a digital environment rather than teaching face-to-face
  • a useful mix of pedagogies to benefit learning and teaching communities
  • challenges and the main issues at stake in the transition to digital
  • adapting teaching expectations and learning outcomes for the potential impact on the broader cultural arts landscape.
