EUROPALIA Arts Festival Turkey - Exhibition “Anatolia. Home of eternity”

26th ENCATC Cultural Happy Hour goes behind the scenes to visit Europalia's headquaters

On 3 December, 25 guests from European Institutions, national Institutes of Culture, cultural organisations and universities, five countries joined ENCATC for a special behind-the-scenes visit to the headquarters of the Europalia Arts Festival who in 2015 is celebrating its 45th anniversary and its 25th festival!

Guests were welcomed by Pablo Fernandez, Director of International Affairs and Communications at Europalia with a presentation and introduction to the Europalia Arts Festival and this year’s festival focus on Turkey. Since 1969, this biennial art festival uses art to connect people by inviting a guest country to put on a four-month programme with hundreds of artistic events aimed at encouraging an open dialogue between cultures and lasting collaborations between artistic partners.

The presentation was followed by a guided visit to the exhibition “Anatolia. Home of Eternity” at the BOZAR for a discovery of one of the greatest cradles of cultures in the world with an extraordinarily rich heritage thanks to an uninterrupted and twelve millennia-long succession of civilisations

In true ENCATC Cultural Happy Hour fashion, the evening included many moments for networking in a warm and convivial environment.

2015 concludes another successful year of ENCATC’s popular Cultural Happy Hours. Now having organised ENCATC Cultural Happy Hours in Belgium, France and Spain, we are convinced more than ever of the importance to bring together key actors from arts and culture, business, and education to exchange their ideas, transfer knowledge, foster collaboration, and create innovative partnerships for the benefit of the arts and cultural sector. We are proud that culture is at the heart of these gatherings stimulating mutual understanding and intercultural dialogue among our guests coming from across Europe and beyond,” said GiannaLia Cogliandro Beyens, ENCATC Secretary General.
