Measuring the unmeasurable? Data collection, analysis and evaluation in culture

Online

In the framework of the ENCATC Evaluation Working Sessions, this seminar "Measuring the unmeasurable?  Data collection, analysis and evaluation in culture" was held on 25 November 2020 from 09:00-16:00 (CET) online.

As the contemporary scientific discussion on the evaluation of cultural projects evolves with regards to methods and theory, we aimed to introduce an interdisciplinary perspective to fill the gaps regarding research and practice.

The seminar planned to support the network of different stakeholders in the cultural sector and encourage a debate between academia and practitioners focused on measurement and evaluation in culture.

The seminar will  present “measurable” based on case studies in the field of culture and cultural projects. All case studies, evaluation reports, impact surveys in cultural management and cultural policy from the perspectives of economics, sociology, cultural studies, geography, political science and anthropology are invited to participate.

Outcomes

  • Peer-reviewed seminar proceedings will include selected contributions submitted until December 15, 2020, and will be published in February 2021
  • Recorded keynote lectures will be available on YouTube for further reference

The online seminar is an initiative of ENCATC, in partnership with the Technical University of Kosice, and is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
