Jan Stejskal is the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administration at the University of Pardubice. Jan is a professor in Public Economics and Services at 40 years old. He studied economics and holds a Ph.D. in regional and public economics. He works at the University of Pardubice, where he carries out his research in the field of public goods and services. Since 2012, he has been working with the Municipal Library in Prague, where he tries to answer the question of how to evaluate public services provided by public libraries. Together with his team, he has created a methodology which

was implemented in the Czech Republic in many dozens of public libraries. Thanks to this methodology, libraries can better analyze their performance and efficiency. Continuous research brings a number of interesting questions, to which he enthusiastically seeks answers. These are mainly questions concerning trends and the development of the perceived value of library services in the long term, as well as methods suitable for the analysis of economic analysis of cultural goods and services.
