Theatre Audiences: The Crucial ASSET

Prague, Online

This conference is held by ENCATC member, the Arts Management Department of Theatre Faculty of Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and is aimed at theatre professional and academics.

This public online conference by the Audience Segmentation System in European Theatres project offers two afternoons of presentations, discussions and an interactive programme devoted to theatre audiences.

On the first day, the organisers will present the results of a two-year research project that took place in the Czech, Austrian, Croatian, Bulgarian and Finnish capitals. You'll discover if it's possible to talk about European audiences as a whole and learn about the specifics of individual countries. The organisers will then develop the topic through a panel discussion with experts from the fields of cultural policy and provision. You will also be introduced an entirely new model for segmenting theatre audiences according to their preferred content.

The second day of the conference will feature an interactive programme with a workshop on segmentation led by The Audience Agency and discussion on the future of European Theatre Night. This is the opportunity to also get a look at excerpts from the programmes of theatres that took part in the research.

The conference will take place in English with Czech, German and Bulgarian translation for certain sections.
