ENCATC delivers statement at UNESCO's Regional Consultation on cultural policies for Europe and North America

On 13 December 2021, ENCATC delivered a statement at UNESCO's Regional Consultation on cultural policies for Europe and North America. This event was chaired by H.E. Ms. Nina Obuljen Koržinek, Minister of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia. This Regional Consultation was organised as part of an inclusive and participatory process aimed at informing the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development – Mondiacult 2022, which will be convened by UNESCO, in partnership with the Government of Mexico, from 28 to 30 September 2022. 

On the occasion of the Regional Consultation, ENCATC was represented by Alan Salzenstein, ENCATC International Correspondent Advisor and Professor of performing arts management and leadership at DePaul University in Chicago, who delivered the statement on behalf of ENCATC.

Mondiacult 2022, a ministerial-level conference, is intended to address key priority areas that can contribute to shaping a more robust and resilient cultural sector, including by promoting the creative economy, as well as supporting Member States in adapting and effectively implementing their cultural policies to better respond to contemporary challenges, and advance the contribution of culture to economic and social development, in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
