ENCATC shares its expertise at the 2024 Culture Summit in Abu Dhabi

From 3-5 March 2024, ENCATC participated in the Culture Summit held in Abu Dhabi, organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Abu Dhabi, UNESCO, The Economist Impact, the Design Museum, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Foundation, Google, the Recording Academy, and other prominent organizations from the art, technology, and media sectors worldwide. The Culture Summit is an annual global forum that convenes leaders from the arts, design, cultural heritage, media, museums, public policy, and technology sectors to explore how culture can transform societies and communities across the globe.

ENCATC was represented by its 2023 Outstanding Award Laureate, Dr. LluĂs Bonet. ENCATC conducted a workshop designed to tap into leadership potential to future-proof cultural projects. Employing an interactive methodology and incorporating insights from ENCATC's partner project, the CHARTER Alliance, Dr. Bonet led participants through an assessment of their professional competencies. This allowed them to learn how to enhance the management of sustainability, participation, and risk-taking within cultural project management. The exercise facilitated a reflection on the overall enhancement of skills and innovation for the participants and their respective organisations.

The 2024 Culture Summit delved into our evolving relationship with time and its effects on cultural production, reception, and consumption. Within this context, the role of culture in assisting us to navigate this pivotal moment was examined. Discussions focused on transitioning from the 'mechanical time' that defines our contemporary era to a 'new cultural time' that is in harmony with the cadence of human consciousness and the natural world.

The Summit provided ENCATC with opportunities to engage with long-standing partners like UNESCO, as well as to initiate new partnerships and synergies with key stakeholders in the field. We take pride in having contributed to this vital dialogue, sharing expertise and emphasizing the need to develop new skills and competencies to address the challenges of today and the future.
